Hispanic Wedding Dresses

The Hispanic bride wears a slim dress and may choose to wear a bolero jacket over it. Alternatively, she may wear a flamenco style dress. A mantilla veil is a remnant of Spanish influence that has become standard for Mexican and Latin American brides. A Hispanic bride often pays homage to her ancestors by wearing a dress passed down from her mother and grandmother, representing the pride she has in her family. She sews ribbons of yellow, blue and red into the lingerie she wears under her wedding dress, which symbolize the food, money and passion that she hopes to attract to her marriage. Pearls are never part of a Hispanic bride’s outfit since they are thought to bring future tears and grief to the marriage. [source : traditional latin american wedding dress]

Kaftan Wedding Dress

The Moroccan kaftan (alqaftane) is an ancient costume dating back to the Greco Roman era. It has been through several revisions over time. While the principle of a full traditional attire always remained the same, Its style variations have undergone some changes over time.

Originally, only the sultans and their wives had the privilege of obtaining a garment as expensive and fashionable as the caftan because the designers spent months to design it and the craftsmen took even more time to shape it, with its embroidery and hand-beading, weaving in with gold and silver thread.

Moroccan caftan has a legacy that has lasted over time and despite all the invasions that occured. But those invasions brought more creative ideas and helped shape the caftan.

The Moroccan caftan or kaftan is one of the most beautiful dresses in morocco. It is what women wear in special occasions such as a wedding or baptism. It is as old as the country itself. But it has known some creative transformations over the years which made it the dream dress that every Moroccan girl must have.
